RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. -- Robert K. (Bob) Lattie, whose involvement with the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) spans three decades, has been named incoming President of the industry association for 2005.
Currently the Director of Product Management at SDL Atlas, Lattie has served the company in a variety of research, engineering and sales positions. He began his career in textiles in 1966 when he joined the Atlas Electric Devices Company following college. He is based in Chicago.
“I have always been proud of my association with the AATCC and the forward-looking goals it has set for itself,” Lattie said. “I am eager to continue its work during the next year and push ahead with issues that are important and even critical to the well-being of our industry and producers as well as consumers everywhere.”
A senior member of the AATCC since 1984, Lattie most recently acted as Treasurer for the Midwest AATCC. He has served as Midwest Chairman, as a member of the AATCC’s Executive Research Committee and has chaired a number of committees, including the International Test Methods Committee and the ANSI Accredited U.S. Technical Advisory Group to ISO TC38, Textiles. In addition to his activities in AATCC, Lattie has worked on a number of other standards development organizations, including the Automotive Materials Association of IFAI, ASTM, the Vinyl Siding Institute and Society of Plastic Engineers.
