Similar to ITMA (Europe), ATME (USA) and CITME (China), ITME has become very prominent, not only for India but also for the countries in the Middle East / Asian regions.
As expected the exhibition was very busy, which resulted in products being sold from the stand. All 3 divisions of the ATLAS MTT India operation (Chennai, Mumbai & Delhi) had to be called on to cope with the influx of visitors.
SDL ATLAS had new devices to show, one of them being the DigiEye Colour Fastness Grading System, this new device created huge interest. Other devices on show were the Martindale Abrasion & Pilling Tester M235, Universal Tensile Tester UT350/5CX which featured new software, Compound Digital Microscope G208B1, AATCC Electronic Crockmeter M238BB, Xenotest 150S+, QuickWash M222QW, as well as a vast range of consumables and accessories.
Chris Lawler SDL ATLAS sales Manager for India, stated ”the response from ITME 04 was astonishing, it does seem that Indian Textile manufacturers are seriously gearing up for the post-quota era, but these organisations will need reliable textile testing equipment, that conform to the various international standards, to assure quality. SDL ATLAS is perfectly placed to offer such products”.
