Visitors From Across Africa Get Hands-On Look At SDL Atlas Testing Instruments During ATF Show
STOCKPORT, ENGLAND -- SDL Atlas provided the African textile industry with an in-depth look at the latest in testing technology during November’s three-day ATF South African Textile Exhibition. The show is the only Southern African trade exhibition devoted exclusively to the apparel, textile, footwear, machinery and related industries.
With support from team members of Cosmo-Tex, its long-standing agent for South Africa, SDL Atlas used its show booth to provide visitors the continent’s first-ever demonstration of its new automated DigiEye Color Fastness Grading System. The DigiEye system uses non-contact optical imaging to evaluate color in small and irregularly shaped samples. The new system is ideal for testing of carpets, printed fabrics, lingerie and velours. A number of visitors accepted the SDL Atlas invitation to bring their own fabric samples to the SDL Atlas booth and watch as the DigiEye grading system performed its evaluations. “Many visitors were astounded by the new device,” said Chris Lawler, Sales Manager for SDL Atlas. “Our demonstrations provided them the chance to experience the real benefit of using DigiEye grading.”
The color grading system wasn’t the only technology SDL Atlas displayed at the ATF. The company also showed off its M235 Martindale Abrasion & Pilling Tester, the M222QV QuickView measurement system and a selection of other consumables and accessory devices.
